Senior Research Associate

Department:
Research & Development

Organizational Relationships:

  • Reports to the Senior Scientist and is responsible for performing a variety of immunological techniques in support of product and process development in a GLP environment.
  • Works cooperatively with other R&D; staff to successfully perform overall job duties.

Position Overview:

  • Work independently and under minimum supervision to perform various immunological assays in support of immune monitoring programs, and T-cell line generation to advance cellular process development, and Quality Control methods.
  • Provide guidance, support training, and offer constructive feedback to Research Associates.
  • Analyze data and report results according to established policies and procedures.
  • Trouble-shoot under the guidance of the Senior Scientist; monitor programs to ensure the accuracy of tests
  • Interpret and follow standard operating procedures and execute activities within the specified parameters and with appropriate controls.
  • Execute multiple laboratory procedures such as cell culture (aseptic technique), separation of blood components, cell counts (manual and automated), determination of cell viability, proliferation assays, ELISA, ELISpot and Luminex assays for cytokine detection, in addition to multi-color flow cytometry testing.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and initiatives.
  • Assist in evaluating new technologies and protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and/or Experience Required:

  • BS degree in the life sciences (cell biology, immunology preferred).
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in utilizing various immunoassays to study T-cell phenotype and function. Prior experience in an FDA-regulated environment (GMP, GLP, GTP) or the clinical trial process is preferred.


  • Manufacturing Cell Therapy Technologist

    Manufacturing

    Organizational Relationships:

    • Reports to the Manufacturing Manager and the Manufacturing Supervisor, and is responsible for performing cell therapy manufacturing activities in a GMP environment.
    • Works cooperatively with other Cell Therapy Technologists as well as with the Quality Control staff to successfully perform overall job duties.

    Position Overview

    • Produce preclinical and clinical lots of material in accordance with manufacturing batch records and approved standard operating procedures while adhering to all applicable regulations and standards (i.e. GMP, GTP, AABB).
    • Perform simple as well as complex procedures on blood products intended for administration into patients for immunotherapeutic purposes.
    • Recognize, monitor and evaluate technical, instrument or physical conditions and problems.
    • Participate in performance improvement activities.
    • Assist in evaluating new technologies and process developments on tech transfer from the appropriate departments.
    • Other duties as required.

    Minimum Education and/or Experience Required

    • BS degree in the life sciences (MT, biology, microbiology, cell biology), or SBB.
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in aseptic processing.
